Suifukaku - A tea room modelled after a traditional tea-ceremony arbour -

With the youthful, fresh nature of Kamigamo and the town stretching out beneath one's eyes - this is a place where you can catch the real feeling of Kyoto.

Suifukaku This is a tea hall said to have been constructed in 1881 in the traditional tea arbour style by Sadanori Fukui, who served as imperial physician for both the Koumei and Meiji emperors.
It is an elegant and stylish tearoom with windows of handmade glass, an interior design which uses Yakusugi wood in the ceiling, a roof adorned with a bronze image of the mythical Firebird Goddess, etc.
It was moved from Komatsubara, Kyoto in 1970 and reconstructed at its current location. It commands an unbroken view of the far-off city of Kyoto, Kyoto Tower directly to the South, the character for "big" emblazoned on a mountainside to the East, and Kinugasa-yama Mountain to the West.

翠風閣見取り図 Small parties, hobby meetings, etc. in the tea room constructed in the style of a traditional tea-ceremony arbour.
The garden may be used as a meeting place for tea, festive parties, etc.
